Leonardo von Papp was born 1977 in Brazil. Grown up in Brazil and Germany, he came to the drums in 1990 after trying all sorts of other instruments before as a kid. From his very first drum-experience he was caught with the power and the sound a drum produces.

In more than 25 years of live and studio playing he experienced everything from Churches and Street Music to Philharmonic Concert Halls. From small sized Jazz Clubs to the biggest Rock Festival Stages.

He studied classical orchestra percussion at the Hochschule für Musik – Würzburg (Germany) and Drum-Set at the Berklee College of Music Boston (USA) and as a private student with Gary Chaffee (Boston/USA)

Currently he is living in Berlin (Germany) and works as a freelancer in the fields of studio, theater and musical shows, bands and orchestras.
